At Sea Gypsy, we understand that getting to the sailboat in San Blas can be challenging without reliable transportation. That’s why we’re here to assist you in arranging transportation through our recommended companies.

What Is Included?

-On the day of departure, a jeep driver will pick you up directly from your hotel between 5:00 – 5:30 AM. The journey through the jungle to the main port of San Blas takes around 3 hours. From the port, a water taxi will take you to your Island or Sailboat, which may take approximately 1.5 hours, including waiting time.
-Return Pick-up Time: Between 6-8 AM, varying depending on the island you are on.

The cost for the round trip is approximately $65 per person, covering both the jeep and water taxi, with a travel time of 4.5 hours. Additionally, there is an entry fee of $22 into the Comarca of Guna Yala.

As you plan your dream trip to San Blas, it’s important to understand that this region is Kuna ruled. The Kuna community operates all transportation, including vehicles and water taxis, with specific entrance and departure times for all visitors. This allows you to experience the genuine culture and traditions of the Kuna people.

Transportation to San Blas:

🌅 Morning Shift Entrance:

• Pickup Time: 5:00 – 5:30 AM from the Panama City area.
• Pickup from Tocumen Airport: Latest pickup time is 6:20 AM.

🌅 Afternoon Shift Entrance: If you prefer the afternoon shift entrance, you’ll need a private vehicle, which will pick you up around 12:30 – 1:00 PM.

Transportation from San Blas:

🌅 Morning Shift Departure from San Blas to Panama City or Tocumen Airport:

• Pick-up from the boat at the San Blas around 6:00 – 8:00 AM, depending on location.
• Arivval to the main port and car departure time to Panama City is approximately 9:00 – 9:30 AM.
• Arrival at Panama City: Between 12:00 – 12:30 PM.

🌅 Afternoon Shift Departure from San Blas to Panama City or Tocumen Airport:
*possible only from certain locations

• Pickup Time: 3:00 – 3:15 PM.
• Arrival at the port no later than 4:00 PM.

Transportation Prices:

• Round trip (Pick up & Drop off) prices: $130 ($65 each way) per person.
• Payment of $65 directly to the driver on the pickup day and $65 on the day of return.

Private Ground Transportation:

• Shared ground transportation is for 6 people plus the driver per vehicle.
• If you arrive after 6:20 AM, you’ll need to book private ground transportation and a private boat as shared options won’t be available.

Prices for private transportation from Panama City to San Blas or vice versa, based on the number of people:

• 2 people: $280
• 3 people: $315
• 4 people: $350
• 5 people: $385
• 6 people: $420

Additional charges for pickups or drop-offs outside of certain areas (e.g., Veracruz, Playa Bonita Dreams, Radisson Panama Canal, Summit Rainforest & Golf Resort).

• Children under 5 years old are not counted as extra passengers. Only children 6 years and older are considered additional passengers.
